Happy Turkey Day!

"Oh I'm glad I'm not a turkey, a turkey, a turkey
Oh I'm glad I'm not a turkey on Thanksgiving Day!
They'll stuff you and bake you and then they will taste you
Oh I'm glad I'm not a turkey on Thanksgiving Day!"

One of our favorite songs leading up to this very special day. Ethan has been trying to sing every word of that song, but so far, the only distinguishable one is an emphatic "DAY!"

Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!!! Gobble gobble!

There's a chill in the air...

Our little family really enjoys the cold weather. For the past two nights, we've hit below freezing and it's been wonderful! Snuggling under the down comforter, wearing warm pajamas, building a fire at our community outdoor fireplace, lighting candles around our home... feels nice. Ethan has really enjoyed stepping on the orange leaves which have found their way into the breeze-way. Maybe it's the "crunch" beneath his feet that intrigues him so. And tonight, in celebration of our chilly weather, I prepared a bathtub loaded with bubbles for Ethan. Unfortunately, he dove in face first grabbing a mouthful of soapy water. The look of disgust on his face was priceless.

Here's to the arrival of some real fall/winter weather... finally!

Playtime With My Dad

When Daddy has a test, our family becomes a little crazy. To help Daddy relax a bit, we took him to the Highland Games where we listened to bagpipes, watched the caber toss, visited with Memaw and Papa, and I ate a gingerbread man. Mmmm...

The next weekend, Mommy and I went to visit Grandma and Raddy so my Dad could have our home all to himself to study. When we returned, he took a day off to spend time with us. Daddy and I don't get to play much because he studies so hard for school, but when we do play we have the best time! Lately, he has been taking me for rides in my wagon after dinner!

For Halloween, I dressed up as my Daddy (in the future, of course!). It's the first time Mommy has ever let me wear my stethoscope out in public. She even let me wear it to school the next day. Sorry the picture isn't so great. We had some trick-or-treating to do and I really wanted to poke that pumpkin in the face!

After Daddy's test was over and everything went just fine, we spent the weekend playing. Here we are at a state park admiring a waterfall.

Here we are chasing each other at the dam.

And finally, here I am screaming "Aaaaahhh!!!" while I'm running!
