Home Sweet Home

We finally moved to our new home! Mommy says she nearly broke down and cried about 5 times during the whole process because she was stressed out. I, on the other hand, thought it would be really fun to cry the entire time the moving truck was being loaded and then the next day, cry for the entire 2 hour car ride. My lungs got some great exercise and I feel great!!!

We are settling in to our new home nicely, meeting all the neighbors, and learning our way around town the best we can. Mommy even had some time to snap a few photos:

Have you ever had this happen to you when you were jumping?

Party time!

The last few days have been really busy for me. On Sunday, my great aunt Nelle and Uncle Gordon came over along with Daddy's godparents, Pat and Emory. Later that afternoon, I had a play date with Sydney and Ethan where they gave me the coolest books and some stacking cups to play with in the bathtub! On Tuesday, I went to Grandma's house and played with my cousin, Heidi. Did you know she never leaves home without her 10 barbies? And last night, Charlie threw me the best going away party ever! All my baby friends were there and we had a great time!

Me and Daddy

Daddy and I spend lots of time together...

Boxing up the puppies for the big move...

Looking handsome in the same shirt...

Making the same facial expressions (if you know my Daddy, you'll understand this one)...

And being absolutely irresistable to Mommy!

Wynken, Blynken and Nod

Each night, Ethan and I lie down in bed and I sing him to sleep. Since he developed RSV and I caught a cold as well, I have not attempted singing until two nights ago. Even though I do not carry a tune very well, Ethan still finds our medley of songs comforting and I find it magical... WITHOUT singing, Ethan takes about 15+ minutes to fall asleep... WITH singing, he's out within 3 minutes. Most nights, our song medley includes: Never Smile At a Crocodile, 15 miles on the Erie Canal, Bonnie Banks, and Rockin' With You (a song written by Miss Tara which we love especially because of the final verse). Tonight, I found a website with lyrics to children's lullabies, which I will add to Ethan's list of links. Included in this list is one of my all time FAVORITE!!! stories/poems: Wynken, Blynken and Nod. I never knew it was an actual lullaby, so if anyone knows the tune to it and will teach me, I would really appreciate knowing that. For those who have never heard of Wynken, Blynken and Nod, here is their story...

Wynken, Blynken and Nod
by Eugene Field

Wynken, Blynken and Nod one night
Sailed off in a wooden shoe,
Sailed on a river of crystal light
Into a sea of dew
Where are you going
And what do you wish
The old man asked the three
We've come to fish
For the herring fish
That swim in the beautiful sea
Nets of silver and gold have we
Said Wynken, Blynken and Nod

So all night long
Their nets they threw
To the stars in the twinklin' foam
Then down from the sky
Came the wooden shoe
Bringing the fisherman home

'Twas oh so pretty
A sail it seemed
As if it could not be
And some folks thought
'Twas a dream they'd dreamed
Of sailing that beautiful sea
But I shall name you
The fisherman three
Wynken, Blynken and Nod

Wynken and Blynken
Are two little eyes
And Nod is a weary head
And the wooden shoe
That sailed the skies
Is a wee one's trundle bed
So shut your eyes
While Mommy sings
Of the wonderful sights that be
And you shall see
All the beautiful things
As you rock in that misty sea
Just like the fisherman three
Wynken, Blynken and Nod
